Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not let the detrimental feedback from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil began competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching period and winning was not a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an eternal love for the game of poker. He states that he's learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making blunders every single session of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a regular basis.
